New retelling of Pride and Prejudice to be released in August
Amanda Grange wrote to tell us about her new book, Darcy’s Diary, which will be out in August in the U.K. and October in the rest of the world…just in time for the brand spankin’ new crop of Darcy fans that will no doubt be born around that time! 
As the title indicates, the book is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice from Darcy’s point of view. From Amanda’s Web site:

I have a book called Darcy’s Story, which I bought at the Jane Austen Center in Bath….which looks good but, I’m sorry to say, is a crap to read. It wasn’t the Darcy we know from the book at all. So childish and one-dimensional. Is there a credible spin-off written from Darcy’s point-of-view?
The best I’ve read so far is The Confession of Fitzwilliam Darcy by Mary Street, but it’s out of print. Why I don’t know, when demand is still there, to the point that used copies go for $50 and up. It’s a sweet book but really not worth the outrageous amounts being asked by used booksellers.
A lot of people really like Pamela Aidan’s series but the third book isn’t out yet. I liked the first two but not as much as Confession. But at least you can buy them on Amazon.
