More PRIDE AND PREJUDICE pictures

Here are some more promotional pictures from PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.

We get a nice shot of Caroline Bingley (#23), Wickham (presumably) sharing his tale of woe with Elizabeth (#73), and what looks to be Elizabeth’s unexpected encounter with Darcy at Pemberley (#106).

Edited because links didn’t work.

Thanks for the link! Since I can’t stop being obsessive about this movie, I had to examine each picture…

#3 I hope this means Lizzy and Mrs B will have a better relationship than in P&P2.

    #8 *will remain dignified…maybe*

#21 Chest hair in Austen?? *faints*

#34 Lucky Lizzy sits next to Col F–wonder if he’ll be so charming in this adaptation?

#59 Can Mr B not be bothered to shave? Somehow I always pictured him being more fastidious.

#78 Does anyone know who that is with Jane?

#84 What a great picture! Captures all the feelings of people when Bingley asks Jane to dance. Still don’t like Lizzy’s gown at the assembly, not that it matters since it is obviously what she’ll be wearing. I’ll have to reconcile myself to it. *longsuffering sigh* What is with Bingley’s hair? I don’t care about the color, but he looks like he’s been dragged backwards through a bush. Please, somebody tell me that’s a wig!

#104 How sweet–Caroline and her dog have the same coloring. ;)

#108 I want that tree. I know, that has nothing to do with the movie, but still. I want it. :)

Julie B., which did you think was Elizabeth encountering Darcy? The links go to the picture index page. Thanks!

No, dude’s just got a lot of hair. I think they’re going for a dandyish Bingley. I don’t know how I feel about that.

And yes, Eliza’s dresses *facepalm* I can live with the green — it’s lovely in yellow candlelight, but the brown one, man. I’m not saying she has to be in pastels, but that brown just makes her look sickly and even skinnier than she already is. But, oh well. Lovely face, ‘fine eyes,’ and all that.

#93 seems to finally prove that Eliza goes to Kent alone. Alone. *headdesk*

    Bingley has a Mozart ‘do — a Mo-fro, if I may.

Amy, I fixed the post. I always check my links, except this time of course.

#78 — Is that Mr. Collins?

Eunice–I don’t mind Elizabeth going to Kent alone. Some stuff will have to be cut, and whilst she wouldn’t have travelled alone I can think of worse cuts.

I think #73/#78 might be at the end, when the Wickhams return to Longbourn. All those shots (#72 thru #76) seem to take place at sunset. Why do I get the feeling that, in the interest of speed, Lady C will be making her visit in the evening, and Elizabeth and Darcy have that ‘sunrise scene’ the morning after?

Okay, obviously I’m obsessing if I’m trying to sequence the stills in my head.

#78 — Is that Mr. Collins?

Hard to tell. The man in #78 looks like he’s wearing a green waistcoat and a wider cravat style than we’ve seen Mr. Collins in.

I’m okay with the cuts. The only thing a P&P production has to prove to me is the strength of their Elizabeth and Darcy dynamic. But while I’m fairly certain MM has turned in a beautifully nuanced performance, I wonder about KK. Not that I think she’s bad, but I hope her Eliza meshes well with his Darcy. There have been so many reports on MM’s Darcy but none of KK, unless to say she was ‘enchanting’ or something vague like that. If she’s too ‘spunky’ and he’s too soulful, I might squirm.

But who am I kidding? It’s P&P. With attractive people. And good lighting. I’m prepared to like it as it is.

Sorry everyone, this isn’t really related.

The webpage http://www.prideandprejudicemovie.net is up. Finally.

    Yay!

Regarding Lizzy’s lack of bonnet: I think they’re trying to portray her as a kind of free spirit who ignores (or at least tries not to conform to) conventional dress and codes of conduct. And as someone who doesn’t particularly fuss over her appearance, hence the fairly plain (compared to Jane) dresses.

It’s an interesting version of Lizzy, but not the character I think Jane Austen had in mind…

You can go to http://www.kkwavefront.org/media/thumbnails.php?album=146 there’s a ton of pictures there, though a they all have keira in them… the official site has the ones kkwavefront is missing, though.

Oh, and there’s a locations shoot over at the official website, featuring all the houses they used for Pemberley, Rosings, Netherfield, and Longbourn… Link:
