Region 2 P&P3 DVD contains "American" ending

Alert Janeite wildeny linked in comments to a review of the Region 2 P&P3 DVD, to be released tomorrow (though it’s already today where it will be released!) that contains news of great interest to many: The Snog is included as a separate alternate ending.

Hurrah to it not being a fully integrated part of the film!
I have read that in fact what people are calling the “American version” is actually the original version of the film. Although not the ending the screenwriter wished for, the “Mrs. Darcy Kissing Scene” was part of the ORIGINAL film. The kissing scene was actually cut for British audiences, because so many people in pre-release marketing groups in Britain had complained about it. So maybe the non-kiss version should be called “The British Version”!
The kissing scene is a better end to the movie then where it ends with Mr. Benett! They should leave it in!
How could they not add the kissing scene???? When I saw the film, I thought the ending sucked. But hey, that’s just my opinion.
Well, I fully agreed with Nina & Anne. Looks like i can only watch this missing ‘kissing scene’ in the Region One DVD.
