Alert Janeites Ann and Lisa sent us a link to a comic featuring Jane Austen. Were she writing today, that’s EXACTLY how it would be. Admit it, Team Darcy, y’all are a little bit scary. (Whereas Team Tilney is perfectly balanced, erudite, and thoughtful about our obsession with a fictional character.)
Ann pointed out that the comments to the thread are worth reading, and we would like to point out that all of Kate Beaton’s comics are worth reading–work your way back through the archives. (We especially liked the Date With Lord Nelson.)

LOL!!! Just saw one of those Alltel commercials on TV with the gaggle of other guys bitch-slapping over who has the better cell phone network. Now have a vision of Team Tilney, Team Darcy, Team Brandon, Team Wentworth, and Team Knightly having a showdown in a mall parking lot. Of course, Team Darcy would win.

That comic was sadly all too true. LOL! Although if she were writing today then she would be able to retain the right to contribute to, or write, the movie screenplays if she wished. Now those would be adaptations I would love to see!

I loved the “fan fiction” cartoon and the comments afterwards, especially the person who complained “That’s the FIFTH BODICE THIS WEEK! DO THEY NEVER SLEEP?”
