February 17, 2009, Lincoln, Rhode Island: Tea and a discussion of Sense and Sensibility at the Lincoln Public Library. Reservations are required.
February 21, 2009, Toronto, Ontario: Pride and Prejudice Workshop and Ball at St. Barnabas Anglican Church Hall. The dance workshop and ball are $20 each ($15 for students); a package deal, which includes a hair and wardrobe makeover, is $50 ($40 for students).
March 3-29, 2009, Milwaukee, Wisconsin: The Milwaukee Rep presents a new adaptation of Pride and Prejudice at Quadracci Powerhouse. Alert Janeite (and JASNA Wisconsin Region member) Cynthia sent us some information about the Region’s involvement in the production.
JASNA President Marsha Huff will present a talkback after one performance during the run. In addition, JASNA-Wisconsin is co-sponsoring two teas as fundraisers for the Rep. The first will be held on Sunday, February 15, at 10 a.m. at Anaba Tea Room in Shorewood and will feature a talk by Rep Artistic Director and Pride and Prejudice Co-author Joe Hanreddy and one by Kim Wilson, JASNA-WI member and author of Tea with Jane Austen and In the Garden with Jane Austen. The second tea will take place on Sunday, March 1 at 11 am at George Watts Tea Room in downtown Milwaukee and will have presentations by Mr. Hanreddy and by JASNA-WI member Mary “Peetie” Basson, former Chair of Upper School English at the University School of Milwaukee. Tickets are $50, and JASNA members attending will receive a $10 discount on tickets to a P&P performance. March 12-28, 2009, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma: The Reduxion Theatre Company presents a new production of Pride and Prejudice at City Arts Center Theater.
