Tonbridge Library in Kent is looking for 12 reading detectives to find literary clues about Jane Austen’s local ties.

“We are running it in parallel with the Jane Austen guided literary walk, and are keen to explore the historical link.

“We will be looking at the archives and letters Jane Austen wrote to her niece Fanny Knight,” she said.

Mrs Giles added that she was looking for ordinary people to take part in the scheme, and there were no age restrictions.

That really sounds like fun! Too bad we’re on the wrong end of the Atlantic.
